Overview of the Treatment

Our facial can be named “The Fire and Ice Massage”!

 

It involves  a deep cleanse using scented hot towels  to open the pores and draw out impurities, exfoliation to smooth and soften,  chilled stones  to tighten the skin and help open & clear sinuses, a mask to help heal the skin and then a deeply relaxing pressure point facial massage to balance and calm the mind.

 

While clients rest on a soft massage table, warm stones are placed strategically on the body’s chakras to open and balance while warm stones and aromatic oils massage the neck, shoulders, and feet.   As the client sinks deeply into their body, the facial rejuvenation of massage, the alternating of warm and chilled stones, the hydrating oils, and the honey mask, together create firmer, more radiant skin.  During this wonderful session specific marma points on the face are activated to cleanse held energy, simulate healing, remove tension, brighten the eyes, relieve sinus conditions, and reduce puffiness.

 

Purpose of Hot/Cold Stone Treatment

Switching between cold and hot applications causes blood vessels to alternately dilate and constrict, leading to increased movement of fluids with in the body, increased removal of toxins and increased healing. The heat relaxes and opens pores while stimulating blood circulation beneath the skin while the cold soothes tired and overheated skin, and closes pores while locking moisture into the skin.

One key to health and well-being is relaxation. Applying the hot stone against the facial skin relaxes muscles and reduces stress, while increasing blood circulation.

 

*Shrinks Pores

Infected or clogged pores can appear more prominent. The hot stone aids to open facial pores so they can be cleansed of debris, toxins, excess oil and bacteria.

 

*Increases Absorbency

By opening the pores, the hot stones aid the absorbency of nutrients to the skin.

 

*Smooths Wrinkles

The cold stone helps tighten the skin, which promotes elasticity while smoothing wrinkles and crows' feet.

 

*Tightens Pores

The cold stone helps shrink capillary blood vessels on the face, which might be due to genetics, aging or over-exposure to the sun. It also helps tighten pores and seal in moisture.

 

* Soothes Skin

The cold stone helps soothe inflamed, itchy, and sensitive skin by constricting the tissue and reducing blood flow to the area.
